To keep a long story short I thought it would be a good idea to keep up with my “>monthly statements posts. In the past I used to divide the monthly blog statements into Earnings and Traffic. Since I don’t want to bore anyone I thought I’d just combine the two for an easier and more efficient presentation of my progress. The last statements I published were in May of 2009, it’s been a while an as such the traffic and earnings from this blog specifically have been reduced to practically nothing. As you know when I came back about 2 weeks ago I mentioned that this site would have a new layout and a new focus. I believe that by trying “not to try so hard” and by just doing what comes naturally that I will be in much better shape for the future as far as blogging on NYW. But enough about me, onto the results:

Traffic for August 2010 – Compared to Best Month
Ouch, looks like pulling teeth here with traffic compared to the “best” month which is still scores away from any of my other sites lol. On the upside I had a site hit 1million hits in a month back in January 2010 (Yes, I know unique visitors + pageviews > hits but I was still stoked). Okay so the traffic shown above is pretty low. There is only one place we can go from here and that is up, because if we don’t go up (aka get better traffic results) I may just have to quit my day job ;P .
My SpyderMate ranking is a 50/100 with obvious room for improvement. My goal for next month is 52 minimum (going to add a few back-links and see what my compete rank logs at.
Next comes an August ’10 Earning Statement: Grand Total – $7.45 from (CPC) – Haven’t checked any other networks for NYW specific cash, usually just focus on my other sites so it may be more. I find it quite astonishing that even with 14 months without fresh content this blog continued to make anywhere from $5-20 a month through CPC (I use adsense and adbrite mostly). It’s not large sum of money by any means but it certainly pays for the yearly domain name charge and the monthly hosting services which NYW are using. Stay Tuned!

I saw you run a couple of ads on your site. How would you like to control who advertises on your site and at what price? On my website I’m using a wordpress ad plugin called oiopublisher which is excellent – you can find it at oiopublisher.com
They have a demo site so you can give it a free test run. I’ve been using it for a couple of month now and it makes me some nice extra revenue selling advertising directly from my wordpress blog, and the best thing is: I keep 100% of the cash since I run the whole ad network from within my wordpress admin area.

I actually already own a copy of OIO publisher I just don’t have it active right now. It’s an awesome plugin and has made me some decent money in the past with one of my high profile blogs. I appreciate the message and it’s definitely worth putting OIO onto a blog if you have the right niche and market.
