Tai Chi – Basic Overview

    What is Tai Chi?

  • Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of soft martial art. It has descended from qigong, and dates back 2,000+ years. Tai Chi is a form of internal meditation which exercises the body, mind, and soul. Tai Chi is practiced daily by millions of people all over the world, with it’s largest consumer base in China.
Tai Chi focuses on an internal life force called chi. Chi is the balance/flow of energy throughout your body. Chi flows through key points in your body which are called meridians, much like acupuncture. The gathering of chi energy within your body can make reduce tension, reduce stress and make you healthier and happier. To a similar effect when chi is blocked or depleted within the body you may become stressed, fatigued and ill.
Tai Chi and the practice of Tai Chi focuses on a few main things:

      1. Meditation
      2. Stretching
      3. Breathing
      4. Balance
  • 1. Tai Chi and Meditation
    1. Tai Chi is practiced as an internal renewal process. It helps you focus on your body, and helps to clear the mind. Doing so will also allow you to think clearly and enter into a relaxed physical and mental state. Meditation is a key component of tai chi, it is a form of gathering energy and focusing that energy within your body.
  • 2. Tai Chi and Stretch Exercises
    1. Tai Chi, like Yoga, can be physically demanding. An entire Tai Chi form consists of steps which must be choreographed with smooth rhythmic motions. Tai Chi allows the user to stretch and hold positions to enhance flexibility. A Tai Chi form is similar in some respects to poses in Yoga, but is generally less strenuous on the body.
  • 3. Tai Chi Breathing Exercises
    1. When an individual is in a state of mental clarity, meditation, they can focus their thoughts on their breathing. As we, humans, age we tend to develop poor breathing habits. We take shorter and more shallow breaths which do not directly contribute to the necessary oxygen flow our muscles and body needs. By allowing ourselves to focus on our breathing we will replenish the body simply by breathing. Focus on abdominal breathing, long inhales, long exhales to truly relax the body.
  • 4. Tai Chi improves Balance
    1. Many of the poses and stretches involved in Tai Chi promote balance and muscle building which will help balance. Another aspect of assisting balance is your mental frame of mind. You will be aware of your surroundings and able to focus on the position/form you are on.
  • Although this was a brief explanation of Tai Chi and what it can do for you, it has essential qualities to keeping physically and mentally healthy. Below I’d like to share the books and DVD’s that I have personally used to help my understanding of Tai Chi.

Goal Setting Tips – Nurture Your Future!

Setting Goals is a Way of Life!

  • Throughout our entire lives we have been living a life of goals. I say this because our lives are based on rewards and punishments. Just take a quick look at the following aspects of life: Community/Laws, Schooling, Jobs/Working, Politics, etc. Since our lives and aspects of our lives, are built around rewards and punishments it’s understandable and logical why someone would want to set goals to be rewarded.
We have been creating, setting, planning, and acting upon goals since we were children. The actions or thoughts may have been subconscious but they were still present. As we continue to grow and age it is important to set goals to attain things we want in life. These things can be emotional, physical, spiritual. I don’t mention material things because those are usually the easiest things to receive. True depth and knowledge within one’s self (self-help) may be one of the hardest things to achieve and is definitely worth trying for.
These following goal setting tips will help you nurture your future and continue to grow towards building wealth. I have outline 4 main criteria which goals should meet:

      1. Goals must be Attainable
      2. Goals must be Measurable
      3. Goals must be Meaningful
      4. Goals must be Time Sensitive
  • 1. Goals must be Attainable
    1. In other words, don’t set the bar too high where reaching your goals are either impossible or will take an extraordinary amount of effort. However, they should be challenging enough to expand your current comfort zone.
  • 2. Goals must be Measurable
    1. Goals must have a specific way that you can “keep score”. Having goals like “I will do better” don’t qualify because you can’t quantify them.
  • 3. Goals must be Meaningful
    1. When you achieve certain goals, they should bring about a sense of accomplishment and some sort of positive change within you, no matter how small that change might be.
  • 4. Goals must be Time Sensitive
    1. Goals must be time sensitive because you need to have a sense of urgency to reach it. Otherwise, you might find yourself procrastinating on getting to that next level. I’ve personally lost track of how many times I could have completed important deliverables if I had a better action plan in place and buckled down.

Sara’s Completely Rich Lifestyle

Hello and welcome!
I want to take a moment to commend each and every patron who has come this far to take initiative by visiting Nurture Your Wealth.  Not only are you on the path to financial success, but with my help, you will be able to truly reap the benefits of enjoying a financially secure lifestyle.  How is this so?  Well, I am a firm believer in living (what I call) a “completely rich lifestyle.”  I live my life by these powerful words I have developed, and their meaning because without them you will never be a truly rich or wealthy person.  Here is a general break down of what living a completely rich lifestyle entails:

  • You are financially stable
  • You have an emergency money foundation
  • You are not living “Month-to-Month” or “Week-to-Week”
    But MOST OF ALL:

  • You are physically healthy
  • You are mentally sound (healthy)
  • You are emotionally secure
  • Your diet is a healthy one

I am sure you are a bit surprised by what I classify as the most important points of living a completely rich lifestyle. Throughout our blog sessions I will introduce each of these components of living a completely rich lifestyle more in depth.

Let’s take a moment to discuss a personal situation I had witnessed several years ago.  I was working for a Law Firm in which we dealt with many top CEO’s of other companies.  I was the “Middle woman” at the time always going back and forth with a handful of these CEO’s, and got to know a few of them well.  Occasionally my company as well as our client’s would get together for brunch.  Throughout discussion I learned just how unhappy these multi-millionaires were.  First of all, they were working 80 hour weeks.  Secondly, the 80 hour work weeks took a toll not only on their relationships at home, but also their health.  If I had to put a number on how many of our clients were severely overweight or obese (which is classified as having a Body Mass Index of 30 or greater) I would say 6 our of 10 fell into these categories.  That is a terrifying number especially for a well established person who has their entire life to enjoy the financial freedom they have created.  The truth is, many of these people will not live to see their retirement funds because they will die of heart disease, heart attack, stroke, diabetes, depression, and more.

So what does this mean?  This means that we need to take care of our body and minds in a way that will give us the energy to enjoy what we have earned, and motivate us to create news avenues of wealth.  As mentioned earlier, we will discuss each of these principles much more in depth.  I will even explain how you, yourself can easily obtain a completely rich lifestyle, and start earning all that you deserve.  I devote much of my time to finding the top product websites out there because I want to find products that truly work, but also are worth investing in.  These products too, are sure to find their way to our blog sessions as they are another way for you to invest in the completely rich lifestyle.  Thank you for visiting!  All questions and comments are welcomed.

Warmly,
Sara Dawn

SEO: Optimize Your Blog

    Search Engine Optimization Basics #2

  • SEO is relevant in all sites, these includes blogs/journals. To help facilitate some SEO knowledge I’d like to point out the fact that WordPress has built in SEO tools you can use, and a few others you can download.
      1. SEO Titles & Tags
      2. SEO Widgets
      3. SEO Sitemap

  • 1. Effective Use of Titles and Tags
    1. When blogging it’s important to use your titles, headers(h1/h2), and tags effectively. Your blog post titles and page titles will be indexed out of the meta section of the page source and will be picked up by any search engine crawling software which passes by. Since a blog utilizes many blog titles everyday it’s important to leverage upon key phrases and use relevant keywords within your title. It goes without saying that at the same time you must also link up your title, in text keywords, and tags together. Tags are excellent tools to attribute to a post. Tags are words that specify key points within your blog post. Having tags which emphasize your in text keywords is essential to a better optimized blog.
  • 2. Blog Plugins/Widgets
    1. Using these free tools provided to you, courtesy of their authors, will help you edit and optimize your blogs better. Some key wordpress widgets which will help SEO your blog better are:

All in One SEO Pack : Found Here
        Platinum SEO Pack: Found Here
  • 3. SEO Site map
    1. Having a major search engine compliant site map is critical in achieving a good Page Rank (pr). Without one you may never be as organized as you should be to take advantage of your true SEO potential. In conjunction with a fully working XML compliant site map, the user benefits from having stored cache files which will help major search engines, such as Google, keep records of your site.
An effective SEO site map plugin you can use is XML Site Maps: Found Here
