What can Tai Chi do For Me?
- While I expanded my knowledge about one of my favorite pass times I came across a newly published book in Barnes and Nobles. The book is titled The Tai Chi Directory and it’s written by Kim Davies. The book has 5 main sections: Why Tai Chi, Principles of Practice, Getting Started, Tai Chi Form, and your Lifestyle. The book is very informative and has expanded on my personal knowledge from my classes. Here is a small excerpt from the text:
”Tai Chi is fantastically good for you. It is a holistic system, meaning that it benefits the mind and spirit as well as the physical body. Regular practice trains your powers of concentration, improves your mental awareness, and teaches you how to control stress. Many of the benefits proceed from the slow, measured rhythm of tai chi. It is impossible to do tai chi in a frantic manner, and so it is impossible to remain stressed while you do it.”(Davies, 2009)
A Summarized List of what Tai Chi can do For You:
1. Improves concentration, and mental awareness.
2. Improves posture, flexibility, and balance.
3. Improves digestion, lowers blood pressure, and boosts your immune system.
4. Reduce and controls stress.
The slow paced nature of tai chi can calm individuals and their fast paced lives.
Tai Chi’s influence on Goals?
- It goes without saying that Tai Chi and any form of regular exercise will have an effect on your performance in life. One thing which always sparks my interest is how tired/lazy my body feels if I miss 2-3 days of working it out. I become sluggish both physically and mentally, my attention seems to be less focused and overall I’m less productive. This is not an isolated issue, many times individuals feel very refreshed by doing tai chi, or meditation/doing yoga. It puts our minds back in sync with our bodies. How many times have you been on a treadmill only to have your mind wonder… …okay back on topic. Exactly! Tai Chi is built in with a calm relaxing meditation which brings your body and mind together as one. This allows you to have a clear focus for the day and tasks ahead. A few points I came up with:
Tai Chi helps you have a relaxed and clear state of mind, helping you stay on track.
Tai Chi will help keep your goals from seeming impossible.
Tai Chi keeps you energized for the day ahead, unlike energy drinks.
I whole heartily recommend The Tai Chi Directory by Kim Davies for Getting Started TODAY with Tai Chi!

Setting Goals is a Way of Life!
- Throughout our entire lives we have been living a life of goals. I say this because our lives are based on rewards and punishments. Just take a quick look at the following aspects of life: Community/Laws, Schooling, Jobs/Working, Politics, etc. Since our lives and aspects of our lives, are built around rewards and punishments it’s understandable and logical why someone would want to set goals to be rewarded.
We have been creating, setting, planning, and acting upon goals since we were children. The actions or thoughts may have been subconscious but they were still present. As we continue to grow and age it is important to set goals to attain things we want in life. These things can be emotional, physical, spiritual. I don’t mention material things because those are usually the easiest things to receive. True depth and knowledge within one’s self (self-help) may be one of the hardest things to achieve and is definitely worth trying for.
These following goal setting tips will help you nurture your future and continue to grow towards building wealth. I have outline 4 main criteria which goals should meet:
1. Goals must be Attainable
2. Goals must be Measurable
3. Goals must be Meaningful
4. Goals must be Time Sensitive
- 1. Goals must be Attainable
In other words, don’t set the bar too high where reaching your goals are either impossible or will take an extraordinary amount of effort. However, they should be challenging enough to expand your current comfort zone.
- 2. Goals must be Measurable
Goals must have a specific way that you can “keep score”. Having goals like “I will do better” don’t qualify because you can’t quantify them.
- 3. Goals must be Meaningful
When you achieve certain goals, they should bring about a sense of accomplishment and some sort of positive change within you, no matter how small that change might be.
- 4. Goals must be Time Sensitive
Goals must be time sensitive because you need to have a sense of urgency to reach it. Otherwise, you might find yourself procrastinating on getting to that next level. I’ve personally lost track of how many times I could have completed important deliverables if I had a better action plan in place and buckled down.

Search Engine Optimization Basics #2
- SEO is relevant in all sites, these includes blogs/journals. To help facilitate some SEO knowledge I’d like to point out the fact that Wordpress has built in SEO tools you can use, and a few others you can download.
1. SEO Titles & Tags
2. SEO Widgets
3. SEO Sitemap
- 1. Effective Use of Titles and Tags
When blogging it’s important to use your titles, headers(h1/h2), and tags effectively. Your blog post titles and page titles will be indexed out of the meta section of the page source and will be picked up by any search engine crawling software which passes by. Since a blog utilizes many blog titles everyday it’s important to leverage upon key phrases and use relevant keywords within your title. It goes without saying that at the same time you must also link up your title, in text keywords, and tags together. Tags are excellent tools to attribute to a post. Tags are words that specify key points within your blog post. Having tags which emphasize your in text keywords is essential to a better optimized blog.
- 2. Blog Plugins/Widgets
Using these free tools provided to you, courtesy of their authors, will help you edit and optimize your blogs better. Some key wordpress widgets which will help SEO your blog better are:
All in One SEO Pack : Found Here
Platinum SEO Pack: Found Here
- 3. SEO Site map
Having a major search engine compliant site map is critical in achieving a good Page Rank (pr). Without one you may never be as organized as you should be to take advantage of your true SEO potential. In conjunction with a fully working XML compliant site map, the user benefits from having stored cache files which will help major search engines, such as Google, keep records of your site.
An effective SEO site map plugin you can use is XML Site Maps: Found Here

Search Engine Optimization Basics #1
- It’s no secret that everything revolves around SEO. To get any amount of traffic to your site you need to have a good Page Rank(PR) and be spread across a few highly targeted keywords. Conventional sites and blogs alike need to focus on a few main points when considering SEO.
1. What is my niche?
2. What are the keywords in my niche?
3. How can I effectively leverage myself with those keywords?
- 1. What is my niche?
Well, a niche is basically a specific genre or theme your site will focus around. My theme is wealth generation online while leading an active and healthy lifestyle. I can be spread across a few financial niches, such as: make money online, affiliate marketing, network marketing, home based businesses, etc. At the same time my health niches, can and will be: yoga, TriVita, nutrition, heart health, stress, sex, tai chi, etc. Choosing your niche is just a matter of what you want to talk about and how you want to present that information.
- 2. What are the keywords in my niche?
Take the title of your site and plug them into a keyword search. Next take your subject/article headings and plug them in. Try to avoid general keywords. General keywords will provide a challenge because many individuals will be saturating that keyword already. It’s important to focus on a few keywords at a time, to build a strong foundation in each of those keywords.
Some sites to help you search for keywords:

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
- 3. Leveraging yourself on your keywords
Once you have found 3-4, I say 3-4 because I spend between 3-10 days on 3-4 keywords, highly targeted keywords begin to build upon them. By publishing quality content focused on those keywords your page rank will improve in due time. SEO isn’t a one night thing, it takes time to build certain keywords and takes even longer to reap the rewards of having a high PR. Some free things you can do to help your SEO for certain keywords is articles, tags, squidoo, ebooks, ezines, blog farms, directories, press releases, forums, etc.
