This month was a bit rough for the blog. Finishing school, searching for work, and getting ready for graduate school took a toll on my allotted time to dedicate to this blog. As you all know, this is a hobby of mine and not a job. I blog when I can because I enjoy doing so. I hope to get back into the normal flow of things as life calms down after my college graduation last week, and as I find a steady 9-5 job which I can keep during graduate school.
My spyder mate stayed the same this month, for the most part which was good. I will continue to try and improve on this within the coming months.

#1 – Search Engines (Windows Live/MSN Search had about 55% of the queries – Google and Google images about 25% – others 20%)
#2 – Entrecard + Twitter (retweets)
#3 – Viral Marketing ( March’s articles + press releases)

This month again I took a different approach to my traffic acquisition. I did 0 paid advertising, I slowed down on social networks (except entrecard) and I published no new sources of publication (ezines or press releases). I stopped commenting on many others blogs (backlinks started to drop), and was trying to see how leaving the blogosphere, in theory, would affect traffic. In effect I throttled back all and any type of advertising.
- Now you may be wondering why did I do this? and did it affect me?
1- I wanted to see how the site would hold up with 30 days of “no advertising”
2- It affected one main area – my backlinks to NYW – I had about 1,200 backlinks at the end of March. This month my backlink number is down to 700 and continues to fall. (Yes I will be advertising this month!)
I did not see much growth in traffic due to this, did I make a mistake? I don’t think so. I learned what I, personally, need to continue doing to assure Nurture Your Wealth’s success on the web and in the blogosphere.
My spyder mate is of course lower than last time. Last time I had a 45 score rating of 100, although many fields were empty. Currently my biggest concern to working towards my spyder mate for this site is building back up the backlinks + doing better on compete. I extended the domain name for another 2+ years which helped my score, and with the recent google page rank change I actually got a page 1 page rank.

This is my first blog traffic statement. The images below are taken directly from my cPanel:

- Number of Visits: 4294
- Page Views: 21,750
- Hits: 159,816
In 33/34 days I have accomplished the numbers stated above. I think the numbers are pretty good for doing 0 paid advertsing. I did not, if my memory serves me correctly, purchase any form of advertising for NYW in March ‘09. I keep an expense notebook which only shows hosting and internet usage as the only outgoing cost (yes, I keep everything written down).
Overall I’m very pleased with the outcome. This blog began on Feb. 28, although I acquired the domain back in July/Aug ‘08, so I think the results are great for just starting out.
To break down my traffic flow here it goes, #1 was best for this month:
#1 – Social Networking Sites/Forums
#2 – Articles/Press Releases/Squidoos/Search Engine Marketing
#3 – Blog Pinging/Commenting+Posting on DoFollows
#4 – Directories/Traffic Exchange(only used Traffic Swarm)
